Founded in 1987, through community collaboration, Scottsdale Prevention Institute, a 501 (c) (3), provides best practice prevention programs. For 22 years, SPI has maintained its primary focus to prevent substance use and abuse, along with offering a broader spectrum of prevention programming.   Our team of highly qualified Prevention Specialists, annually impact the lives of thousands of children and families in schools, the community and the workplace.

Dana Sherman, Ph.D is the School Program Director at Scottsdale Prevention Institute. She has taught Developmental Psychology at Paradise Valley Community College, developed parenting and sign language workshops for families and worked as a parenting instructor for two local non-profits. Dana graduated from Duke and earned her Doctorate there in Psychology with a concentration in Organizational Behavior.
